Keyless Door Lock

My door lock is shot due to a sheared lever connecting inside latch to bolt. Looking online, I see there are keyless door locks available. Does anyone have any experience with a certain product. Please share if you do. Thanks.

I have a travel trailer so might not help, but I have a Bauer Lock on the rear door and the RV Lock on the front. I like both very much. The Bauer Lock has AWESOME customer service. I do like the RV Lock slightly better due to its key fob option but to me it is a bit gimmicky now that I have it.

I also have the RV Lock brand. So far so good. Works as advertised.

I have the RV Lock and a friction hinge door. The friction hinge door requires a little more force to close. The RV Lock is plastic and flexes a little when pulling the door closed. It's been a good lock so far but the flex is concerning for the long term.

I agree with this, but if you use the door handle and give it a little slam, it closes without having to pull on the lock handle.

I just installed the Bauer EM and love it. When kids go away from the campsite no more worrying about "who" has a set of key.

Installation was quick and easy.

I found an exact replacement far from home at Camping World. Put plenty of silicon in it. Maybe it will last. Travel on!

My biggest problem with these types of locks is they are generally up a little higher (so you have to reach up -- think about how you unlock using your key now). When you reach up and punch in your code -- kinda easy for anyone to see, especially in the camper next to you.

I love the idea of having a keyless entry, but when the door is already pretty high, it just concerns me. Call me paranoid...but the ATM's have made me that way as well.

On the Bauer lock I can type my code in and then hit as many numbers as I want before hitting unlock and it will still read and unlock. It is a feature they provide. I do not think the RV Lock does that.

We have added RV Lock on all of our trailers. We have never had any issues. The more recent generation with the built in keypad are great.

I believe they have a rep on this forum as well. If you have any specific questions about them.

I believe he said that they were making coded slam locks. I could have dreamt that though. I think it was in the welcome forum.

I have the electric Bauer lock. It comes in two sizes, the larger one is about a $100 more. It can be locked with one key or the combination. It also lights so you can see what you doing in the dark. the only problem I have is with a little bit of play when you try to open the door locked. I'll probably take it to a locksmith and have the door frame ground a little so the hasp can be pushed further back. It sure beats the two key lock.

I installed a Bauer lock on my 5th Wheel and like it very much. Found it on sale for $135 but I know it retails generally higher. They make one especially for trailers and one for motor coaches so make sure you get the right one. It was quite easy to install. The only thing I don't like is when I remove the batteries for winter storage, I'll have to reprogram it again in the spring. I always keep my instruction sheet handy because it is something I can't remember how to do. Wish there was a memory feature that would keep the combination active for when the batteries are replaced. Other than that, it's a mod that I'm really glad I sprung for.

I installed the Bauer lock on my 329ds and so far so good. It lost the code once but I have a key in my wallet for emergencies. It is easy to program so no issues there.
