LCI Coach Steps

I have a 2008 Georgetown 373
The steps to the door will deploy (come out) when I open the door
but when I close it they sometime takes about 20 to 25
seconds to go back in.
I tried to adjust the magnets on the door frame and door
Do those things ware out and need to be replaced now and then?
Has this happen to anybody else?
Its just a little AGGRAVATING.

Thanks jojo bamboo

My 2010 378 does the same thing when the engine is running. Maybe only 10-15 seconds, though. I believe it is a normal occurrence.

My steps do the exact same and they were replaced in 2012 by forest River still having problems. The other problem was when the stairs extended the motor would keep running for about five seconds and make a loud banging noise. And the same thing when retraining. So they were replaced.

This is not normal operation for Lippert or Kwikee steps no matter whether just closing door (power switch on) or allowing engine start to auto retract (power switch off).

Steps

My 2011 378 has always done the same thing. If you turn the switch inside to retract the steps, it does it as soon as you close the door. When the engine is running, it usually takes about 15 seconds. I never asked if that was normal or not. They were replaced about two years ago with a new set, and they are the same as the old ones. Not a big deal to me, I know how they operate and they are consistent.
