leveler pops and bangs

Like others on here my jacks would often be noisy at night when extended but wheels still on the ground. This year I cut some 2x6 lumber into blocks just long enough to use under a tire or jacks. So this season before leveling I placed enough blocking to almost touch each jack. Then when I leveled the jacks barely had to extend and the coach was rock solid and no popping! The blocks mostly fill the small compartment just to the right of the steps. Have not used them under tires but might if stuck with an overnight site that has a really low spot at one corner as has happened in the past. I have considered carrying a short handled shovel for that situation but it doesn't happen when we travel our usual routes and stay at our favorite places with long level sites. But we have gotten some lousy sites that had big dips or slopes when we had no other options for a night. My rear jacks used to wake me up with a loud pop or bang. Not anymore.
