Leveling Jack in 2008 Georgetown Amperage

Hello Everyone,

Does anybody know or even better have documentation on the amperage of the breaker under the steps that controls the leveling jacks?

My leveling jacks keep keep tripping the breaker when I set it to auto level. This started to happen after my mechanic fixed a hose leak for one of the leveling columns. Lipper is telling him the reason it's doing that and the reason we get all lights flashing on the left side is because the breaker has gone bad and not pulling enough AMPs. Something doesn't sound right to me, but he's telling me that the first step is to replace the breaker, but no one know what it is? I thought it was a 90 or 100 amps!!!

I'd love to hear from anyone that had this happen to them specially if they have a 2008 georgetown.

90-100, meh. Mine came with a 90, so that's what I replaced it with when it blew apart.

Also, make sure you're plugged in to good power or have the genny running when you use the jacks or slides.

It is very important that you have good batteries and fully charged. That's what I found out with my GT. Low batteries=tripped breaker almost every time.

Thank You Freds and Fourn. Couple of follow up questions.

I had my coach plugged in for 3 days and the new inverter showed 12 volts. I didn't get a chance to try my jacks then because my mechanic said he needs to diagnose it first. Maybe that what I should do this weekend, wondering if that will help point me in the right direction.

Last night my mechanic called to tell me that the battery voltage drops when the engine is on and the leveling jacks are trying to level the coach. If that is the case doesn't that point to the batteries? Also if the generator is on doesn't it give the jacks enough voltage and amps for them to function correctly so doesn't that lead us down the path of the breaker has gone bad?

I'm very frustrated that these things don't have straight forward rules like if the battery is fully charged and the jacks fail it's the breaker.

How old are the batteries? 3 years replace them. Check all the connections and make sure they are good. It's not voltage its amperage you are concerned with. This is te only reason I know of for them to fail and the only time I've had a problem. Voltage will drop when activated

also leaving the coach plugged in can boil out the batteries making them junk if the water isn't maintained. Don't believe the maintenance free thing. When plugged in you should hit the disconnect switch. The inverter will still allow power for the coach

Batteries are only 1 1/2 years old so I hope they are still good.

Okay good to know it's the amperage that count, so for now I guess I'll have the mechanic change the breaker just to rule it out. Then I guess it's the batteries.

By the way when I hit the disconnect switch it still stays on. Is that the coaches on/off switch?

How do you like your coach. It's our first RV after renting for 5 years to make sure we like RV'ing and love it. I'm not impressed LCI and find that the coach had a lot of stuff that is just okay and not too great.

We love it for what we paid for it, way below book because they seller had to get rid of it. Its all relative to price, the more you pay the better the rig usually. Anyways good luck with the system.

Does the breaker trip if you have the engine running while operating the jacks?
I have read and found to be true on my MH that no matter the state of my battery's or if the generator is running, I have to have the engine running or the breaker will often trip.

Yeah the darn thing trips when the engine or geny is on. The crazy thing is it doesn't trip when I do manual leveling just Auto!
