The Old Song and Dance from Lippert

What? What did they say? I had to read it twice to realize they said nothing. They didn't address your questions at all. Maybe it's just me. There are many other owners like me having leak down issues. Frank

frankatp,

Thanks for the shout out. You mentioned you were having leveler issues. I had been reading this post periodically and I thought it was only the Georgetowns Units having the problems with Lippert levelers.

The system used on Berkshires is equalizer systems not lippert. Check your fluid level and check for leaks at your hydraulic pump especially where the valve assembly meets the bottom. Also make sure that the two by-pass red knobs are in the correct position. You also might want to check the small screws at the end of each of the valves on the hydraulic pump to insure that the are seated and tight. My original issue with my levelers was a leak from the small set (bleed) hex screw on the base of the individual leveler. Once I tightened that down, no more leak.

I subsequently noticed that my sofa slideout was creeping out a couple of inches. I found out from the dealer that the factory had not been properly filling the hydraulic pump reservoir correctly. They had only been filling it less than half way. This causes air to get into the system, thus the creep. They told me to fill the reservoir and then do the procedure to get the air out of the system. Unfortunately the dealer gave me the Lippert Instructions, which had me fill the reservoir to within 1/2 in of the top. They subsequently gave me The Equalizer instructions, which do not have you fill it that full. I did have some issues because I did that, but I worked them out. I did learn on the Berkshires that the 4 levelers are hydraulics and that the two front slides are also hydraulic and that the two back slideouts are electrically operated, and not hydraulic. If you need the instructions for how to get the air out of the Equalizer System hydraulics, let me know. Good luck with rest of you units problems. If you let me know what they are, I might be able to point you in some direction with a solution.

I am wondering has anyone heard of a fix regarding the settling issue. I thought it was me.
Thanks for any updates.

I don't know if this will help the Georgetown owners or not, but here is a link to the instructions on how to get the air out of the Lippert hydaulic system, which maybe causing the Slideouts or leveling jacks to creep. http://www.lci1.com/LIP/2-7-11-0183.pdf
