License Plates

The license plates for our Georgetown arrived and my husband took the temporary plate off the back and put on the permanent plate. However, we don't see a spot for the plate on the front of the Georgetown.

For those in states that need to have a front and back plate displayed, how did you put on the front plate?

Thanks.

License plate mounting brackets are about $50 at dealerships, or cheaper at auto parts stores but don't fit as well, in my experience. If issued by your state, they are required on your vehicle when traveling in Washington. I assume that's the same for all 2-plate states. Good luck!

I didn't want to drill holes in the front lower cap, so I slid the plate behind the lower front cap/bumper, in the center, against the black mesh grill. I stuck some self stick pads on the back of the plate so it wouldn't rub the paint. I secured it with two zip ties. Works great.

I just carry ours inside, one year and a few thousand miles later it's never been a problem.

In the Great State of Ohio, we have front and back plates. There are many who only put on the back one, because of the issue you've encountered. I used self tapping metal screws into the plastic bumper of our old grand prix (when it was new). I've never heard of anyone having a problem. Also goes for vintage cars that use the model year as the license plate (i.e. a '68 GTO will have a 1968 license plate). The owner just keeps the current one in the glove box.

Does that mean no tint at all or just a certain level of tint is allowed?

What about factory installed tint - surely that's allowed.

5% tint only on drivers and passenger side front windows, limo tint on rears and back window acceptable.

The gun iirc must allow 95% of light through the front windows.

x2 We're in Illinois which requires the front plate. It's in the cabinet above the door, we've not been asked for it yet.

With so many states requiring front plates it does surprise me the RV industry doesn't just include a nice spot for it. It must not be a big enough issue for them to change.

I have the same issue - found these on amazon last week.

Amazon.com: Cruiser Accessories 78410 Suction Cups, Clear, 4 pack: Automotive

They seem to be working so far - here's a photo from the inside (behind the cat)
