Try a CD/DVD cleaner disk.

Is it a Blu-Ray DVD player and you are trying to play standard DVD's, or standard player trying to play Blu-Ray which would be my guess why it won't play the DVD.

CD's only hold 20% of the digital info that a DVD does... in other words if the read heads are dirty they may work with a CD but not with a DVD because the data track is much smaller on a DVD...

rental DVD's often are contaminated with filth and can contaminate the heads...

try a can of air in the slot and/or a DVD cleaning disk before you give up on it...

or pick up a cheap DVD player and plug into an unused HDMI port on the TV

I’ve had a similar problem with mine. It plays the movies about 3/4 of the way through then freezes up. I’ve noticed that when I eject the dvd it’s very warm. I noticed that they didn’t build any ventilation to it. I’ve wondered if they’re just not getting too hot.

I had a similar problem with the RCA DVD Home Theater System.

We headed out in the Georgetown for a the month of August, taking with us the full set of James Bond - 007 DVDs. The first few worked fine, then they started to play half way and stop. Even revisiting the same part of the DVD the following day had no effect.

The other DVDs that we had with us, however, played all the way through without a problem.

When we 1st started having the problem I could rewind it for 15 seconds. I’d have to do this several times then it would work. We went camping last week. I was no longer able to do that. Looked at the reviews for Furrion 3100 model. They were horrible

These stories remind of back in the day when auto makers put crappy low power radios in cars. Anyone with any kind of musical taste or hearing went out and either had installed, or did it themself, a powerful full feature head unit from JBL, Pioneer, Panasonic, Sony and more, along with a decent set of speakers. Car companies final got the drift that today's units are made by some of the best audio companies out there. Just another example of some of the low cost junk installed in the modern RV today. Who buys Furrion or RCA today!?

I can remember those days too. Haha! You’re right maybe RV manufacturers will get the message too. My 2010 Ford truck came with a Sony sound system
