Lippert auto level problems

2014 378xl ever time I use the auto level I have to do a recaliberate tired of it. Have been doing the manual leveling but getting up and down out of drivers chair to look at my 4' level on kitchen floor is a pain. How do others do it.

Sounds like you need to get your auto level fixed so you can use it. That's what I would do.

Get one of these and put it right next to leveler control panel (it's small) oriented of course. Level the coach to your liking and mark the vials accordingly with magic marker. Always place the level in the same spot when leveling and store in the cup holder there at the side panel. Works for me for manual leveling, which I mostly do. I only use auto level if site is already pretty much level by my calibrated vial level.

I have a 2012 360ds and had the same problem what you need to check is your hydraulics at the pump if it's leaking back at the pump that caused the re leveling problem.

I was rereading the original post. If you have to recalibrate zero level every time, and auto level isnt working, you might check your sensors. They could be loose. If they are tight, then it could be a computer problem.

You can call lippert and they will step you through some trouble shooting. That's what they did with me. We found the loose sensor, and they sent me an extra just in case.

But fixing the auto level makes more sense to me than just ignoring the problem and doing it manually.

Good question! I am more familiar with fifth wheels, so hopefully a MH person can give more precise locations.

The front sensor is usually combined with the control unit and closer to the touch pad. Hopefully you can follow the wire from the touch pad to the controller.

The rear sensor should be on a cross member behind the rear tires.

You can find your system on the lippert website and download the operation/install docs that will have pics of what they look like.

Auto level, at least most that I hear about and ours, seems to extend to almost max extension which brings our front wheels off the ground. Also for a fact, the level is close but not exact, you can raise or lower a bit and the level lights don’t change. We pulled into a campground in MS a couple of years ago and by pure odd luck we were in a row of Georgetown 378’s, 4 of use. Three units had their front wheels off the ground, l manual leveled and kept the wheels on the ground, and yes my auto level is calibrated. Visited the other unit owners and they auto leveled and noticed we had our wheels down. I purchased a level device from Camping World that has 4 lights, put in own the floor and level off of it. Works great and is very accurate. A bit pricey but excellent.
eBay link, I know Camping World has it.

Good luck and safe travels.

Install levels

I installed two small stick on levels the kind used on the outside is small trailers.
First I carefully leveled the coach using a four foot level. Then I attached these with one under the driver side window and one below the speedometer.
It is easy then to see how close to level you are as you pull in. Sometimes moving a few feet makes s big difference.
It is then easy to level with auto or manual without ever leaving your seat.

Agree that auto level usually gets front wheels off the ground. I go manual and start with the high sides until I feel ground contact with the jacks. Then bring the low side up until lights go out. No wobble and seems the jacks extend the least.

On my 2011 350 there are lights showing what is low. I use the manual until the unit shows level. That has worked for me. Good Luck!

x 2. I just do what the unit is telling me. Push the yellow lights until the green one goes on.

Me too, gave up on auto level long ago. I do believe the manual says to lower front first until jacks touch ground and lift a little then rear jacks then level side to side. Then I just watch sensor lights until level is indicated. Whatever jacks to lower first probably doesn't matter but in manual mode I am level in seconds as opposed to auto level.
