Hello all. New here. This is my 2nd post (1st was my intro over in the welcome mat area).
I have just purchased a Georgetown 337 and after using it the first time discovered this little step dilemma. I contacted my dealer who attempted to solve the riddle using a model that was on their lot and they conceded that they too couldn't figure it out. So.... they contacted Forest River who provided these instructions, but they do not work.
- start generator
- turn battery disconnect switch off
- leave the step switch in the on position light illuminated
- shut the entrance door
- on the outside of the unit open the generator door remove the front cover of the generator and turn the generator off
As I wrote, these instructions do not work. I thought I was a genius for coming up with a solution, but Polkatronron had already discovered the same method. My wife needs a step stool to perform the procedure, but leaving the switches on and shutting the screen door, then reaching in to turn the switches off seems to work. Then we just store the small step stool in one of the storage compartments.
So, I apologize for not being able to provide the solution and merely regurgitating what has already been posted, but I wanted to share those procedures because it indicates that the factory has been notified and that what they think works does not.
