Lippert Electrics Step - Bolt Snapped

While up north this past week, I retracted the electric step. About half way up it stopped and the main bolt that holds the gear snapped. I told Lippert the step was not working properly when I visited them in Goshen 2 months ago. I'm really frustrated and the low quality if Lippert components. 2 months ago I had to have all my hydro system replaceds.....and I have a 2013 model. I sincerely hope they will just send me the new step and I'll attach it. I don't want to have to do another 300 mile round trip to have them do what they should have already done 2 months ago.

Anyone else have this problem?

Unfortunately yes. I have a 2014. They replaced the steps under warranty with a kwickee system. I too am concerned about the cheaper components that FR uses, but you get what you pay for and I wanted to stay at a certain price point. I decided I would just suck it up and roll with it. Good luck!
