After you get it done it would be nice if you would post (with pictures) how they are fixing it.

Got my recall notice last week! In November I had trouble with the center bolt. It broke. I called lippert in November and he had me take a picture of it and a picture of model and serial number and email it to him! A week later I received a new 3 step ups at no charge! They said they would not pay to install it. I installed them myself and am ready to head for Florida! See you there! Thank you Lippert!

I landed up buying and replacing my steps myself. Because I'm the second owner of my rig FR wouldn't replace them free but sold them to me for $357 plus $40 shipping. Didn't think that was too bad. I wonder if Lippert is going to compensate folks like me in any way. Last year it was suggested to me to not change out my steps with the thought that a recall was in the works.

My recall notice said they are replacing the bolt that connects to the gear that drives the steps. But they first have to redesign and manufacture the new bolts. Who knows when.

I guess the spare bolt I have been trying to give away will not be any good to anyone. Forest River replaced my Lippert Steps with a Kwike at the Frog Rally. After having two of those bolts brake.

Hey falcon35! I am interested in the bolt! Where are you? How could I get it from you? Can you mail it? I will pay shipping!

Hi gmann55 I'm in Zephyrhills FL right now but home is in Waterloo ON. If you are near me I will be happy to give it to you. But if you get the recall from FR you should not need it. I know I would not want to depend on that bolt anymore.

Replaced my steps

I just bought an 11 378 Xl T&S and they had to replace the steps. The previous owner had an extended warranty and they replaced it under warranty. I tried to tell them that they could get it done under the recall but they didn't care as the extended warranty would pay. Well that was expensive, they charged them $1598.00 for the stairs, $780 Labour, etc. and taxes to a total of $2600.00 Canadian pesos. Can you say ouch, no wonder extended warranty is so expensive. They told me they could not put in Kwikee steps as it was to much retrofitting. I checked in this morning and noticed the steps were from Kwikee. The difference was the top step was 2" more rise (not exceptable) so they moved the mounting brackets up the 2" and now it is the way it is supposed to be. The old steps had too much rise and almost touched the ground, these ones are about 1" lees rise per step so they are now about 4" from the ground. Also about 2" wider so they fill in the opening better.
