The savings is absolutely worth the trip. Just remember that you will not be taking the dealer home with you and when it comes down to it on warrantee repairs, your local dealer probably will be willing to do the job. He is gonna get paid by Forest River.

We bought our first Sabre from RVW, almost 800 miles away. Warranty work was lined up by them with the most local dealer, which was still an hour away. I didn't have any issues with the work or timeframe. Also had major warranty work done by forest river at the factory and they picked it up at my house.
Saved almost $8000 and will save that again as our new Sabre should be ready for pickup in OH in April

We bought ours from on the other side of the country, who was more than 15K less than the local dealer. We were warned not to expect much if anything after the sale. We made a vacation of it and after returning home went to our trusted (non dealer) RV repair and spent about $1,000 on him giving our unit a thorough once over and taking care of all the miscellaneous. As far as the major systems fridge, A/C, etc. most independent RV shops can handle warranty work. Further our prior experience dealing with selling dealers was spotty at best. We are happy with our choice.
