The only advantage you get with a 30 amp or 50 amp recepticle is the ability to run your A/C (or both A/C or your fireplace on a 50 amp rig).

Everything else is 110V (15 amp)

Oh, and being able to run the A/C is VERY welcome when you have a hour or so of interior maintnenace to perform...in JULY

Yes 50 amp "switchboards" are fully energized with 115 vac when connected to 50 amp or 30 amp source. The line 1 and line 2 each receive the same voltage available. This allows 30 amps for all circuits vs 100 amps total power if L1 and L2 are kept independent.
