LP Gas Quick Connect Question

My rig came with an outside LP Quick Connect. I currently have a Weber Q200 series grill that I have had for a couple of years. Now that I have a way to power off of the coaches LP, I can't seem to figure out how to get Gas to the Weber grill.

Can it be done?

What other grills do you guys use?

I am unsure if the Weber has a built on gas regulator.

IF the gas to the QD is regulated and the Weber is there may not be enough pressure for it to light.

Some have removed the regulator on the grill while some bypass the trailer regulator.

You have to remove the regulator from the Weber and buy adapters to Connect your hose.

I don't believe you'll need the original regulator that came on it. It's in my pic just to show that it was removed. The YouTube video I based my mod on was "Weber Q1200 High Pressure to Low Pressure RV Conversion". Good luck.....

gas quick connect

was at the Toronto RV show a couple of weeks ago & the rep at the Weber display said that an ez way to know if you can hook your grill to the RV gas supply directly is if the bbq has one control knob at the point where the gas line connects you will need a special adapter but if your grill has the knobs located in the front of the grill & gas connects at side you can connect to rv gas supply only with the use of a hose. Hope this helps.

Once you get the regultror off you will have to get the fittings to go from 1/8 NPT to 1/4NPT the hoses and quick connect male and the hose. There are plenty of threads on this site/ subject

On my Q1000 I just got a hose that has the quick disconnect on one end and a threaded end that fits into the place where the small bottles of propane go. Since the quick disconnect on the RV end is before the regulator, I had to leave the factory regulator on the Q1000.

Only use the 1 regulator, (the campers). I put a quick connect on my Camp Chef Yukon, it works great. URL=http://s651.photobucket.com/user/kramer88/media/009_zpscigwiftp.jpg.html][/URL]

Or if you prefer to be able to snap the regulator back on sometimes, here is a complete 'How to' with pictures.

True - I just wanted to tear apart my old one and leave the new one alone.

True that only one regulator is required, but beware of which one is required. For high output heating devices (like the high-output Stansport dual burner) the RV regulator doesn't provide enough pressure for proper operation. Take propane directly from the cylinder and utilize the provided regulator via the appropriate adaptor/hose combination.

I just did my weber grill and works great. You need to remove the regulator off the grill and replace with a male nipple that will connect to your hose coming off the motorhome. it's that easy.
