LP Regulator replacement.

I am replacing my leaking 524AS LP regulator with the exact same model. Its output is suppose to be 11 inches water column. My question is since its not stamped on the regulator as certified what is to say that it does not need adjusting and how can you confirm?? I have since checked that each appliance i.e. the stove, frig, and heater and they each have their own regulator and of course their output is contingent on the input so again should I just take it for granted and install it or is there a proper way to check it?

the proper way would be a "slack tube" on a port of the reg. 11 to 12" flowing. my guess is no one checks a new one. Id just roll with it...

.....as everything worked before I pulled it out, putting a new one without testing its output should still narrow any problems I might have and it's much simpler of course than say like putting in an untested alternator.....too much trouble to find out that it does not work.

Is that heater just passed the regulator there to warm the propane from its liquid state before sending it on too the other appliances?

the LP should be a vapor as it boils off the liquid in the tank. there should be only vapor in the line.

Thank you.....I am asking because Amazon did not send the regulator I ordered which was the 542AS but instead a replacement, model number 6080 that vents out the side right at that heater and it looks like I have to resign myself to sending it back.

vents just need to be within 45 degrees of down. nothing vents out the vent really. just there to allow atmospheric pressure to diaphram...

ty for the pics...your old reg is a horizontal reg and 160,000 btu. the new reg is a vertical reg and 80,000 btu. if its going on a motorhome tank in a horizontal position then you should have another reg. i would not worry too much about the output. 80,000 should be ok unless you have a lp genset or something...

....the one they sent vents to the right....and yes I questioned it because all of the instructions say that it should vent down and this one I enclosed in the earlier picture does not fit the Georgetown application.

Yeah, that was not what I ordered so it looks like I will have to look for one the old fashioned way. Thank you.
