I am so over everyone on all forums (not singling out ANYONE or forum)justifying crap! I guess you missed in the picture that it is OK for the other cabinet doors to hit the ceiling.
With this specific cabinet/door, some have justified it prevents stuff hitting the range/stove. Actually I had to get a step stool to reach things because the door opening down necessitated additional arm length to reach inside to get anything & everything creating the accident waiting tio happen some thinks it avoids!
A lift up door is the only way to go. Also, that is why the restraining bar(s) (in pic) are made by CAMCO and others. If one packs incorrectly, isn't careful, goes in while cooking, … That is their problem, don't design/install incorrectly to cover their incompetence or mistakes, allow me to use it easily, properly, and correctly.
