Main Door Strut

This has to be the stupidest idea for an entry door strut on the planet, you can see where someone thought that after it pulled out the first time they would just move it over an 1/8th of an inch. Every time you open the door no matter how gently, it bends the frame that it is screwed into and works the screws loose a little bit more. This should have been thru bolted, but since it doesn't go thru the top and lands somewhere inside the door I don't really want to start drilling holes until I get some idea if anyone else has changed this to something that actually works

I agree it was not a good idea. Guess I was lucky as I had two doors set up like this and only once did the rear door mess up but fixed easily, Lasted 4 years before I traded. No worry now as they are not on the new camper as I think they realized t was not a good idea. Later RJD
