Michelin XRV - 235/80R22.5G deal

If you are in need of a new Michelin XRV - 235/80R22.5G:

Arghh... took a chunk out of my outer passenger rear sidewall tire and quickly learned that these tires are NOT cheap (first time RV owner).

I thought I'd pass this along if anyone is in need of one of these tires. I found that Sears has the best deal I can find at $477 plus they currently have a $40 off online coupon. 437 + tax.

Camping World will install it for $60. It's a bit of a pain but will $100+ cheaper than CW's tire rates.

Also you may check Costco. Just a couple of weeks ago, they quoted me $404 per tire. They told me mounting and balancing is only $15 per tire also.

Sometimes talk is cheap until you actually do the deed. Just make sure there aren't any hidden fees (disposal, environmental, etc).

And above all..................make sure to actually see the "birth date" of the tires you are getting. Sometimes these deal prices are with outdated tires to clean up old inventory.

I've bought tires from Costco before and they are very reputatable. Their fees are only $1 for tire disposal. As far as these tires, they have to special order them. So I would highly doubt they are outdated tires.

Did Costco change the tire on your MH? If not, how did you work out the logistics of the install? (unless you had a spare)

I bought tires for my car and truck from Costco. I was just relaying that I inquired to Costco about their prices. Since my MH is new, I don't expect to have by any soon. But I just wanted to know the cost in the event of a blow out.

Wow! Almost $400 a tire holy cow! Ours is 5 years old and most people recommend 7 years at most for tire life and had no idea it would be $2000 and up in tires!

$450 plus tax and disposal charge plus install = $525 each so
Multipley by 6 = $3,150
So start saving up now $65 a month for the next 48 months should do it.

I see where Family Motorcoach Association members get a discount on Michelin Tires. Not sure if it would always be cheaper than a local tire provider but the price is locked in the event you would need one for emergency replacement.

Haven't put tires on ours until today. 2008 350 ts. Dryrot not mileage did us in. 460 per tire installed. 2760 total.
