Molding separation

I have a 2014 335 has been great but have now experienced two pieces of molding that has split open. check pic out as far as I know neither have been wet. Has anyone else had this problem yet?

That looks like the molding on a slide. If that's the case, we have a similar problem with ours. We had the dealer install a new molding because ours was crunched similar to yours at the bottom. We thought all was well until we noticed the new molding cracking. WTH

After a little troubleshooting, we found the slide-out was overextending a slight bit which tilted the outside wall up as the top seated and the hydraulic ram (at the bottom) continued pushing outward. This tilted the whole box forcing the molding into the carpet and pulling it away from the wall.

The fix is to adjust the ram limit but so far I've just been careful to watch it extend and stop it as soon as everything squares up.

Hope this helps.

We have the same problem on the piece near the the front entrance (we have the 351). There is no water there, and we have carpets there when you walk in. I just think it is a real POS and is just spitting. Working on getting it replaced now.

That material is basically a glorified heavy cardboard. Kind of like particle board but not as heavy duty. I think if you have an inspection you will find there is indeed some moisture in that area. Not a huge leak, but just a few drips here and there will cause that. The carpet gets a little damp and that material acts like a sponge and soaks it right up.
