Moving Batteries

Has anyone ever moved the coach (house) batteries from under the entry step to under the hood next to the chassis battery?

Is this a good or bad idea?

Not really a good idea. Several items need large cables to those batteries and moving them that far away would require much larger cables and that would be very costly. Cables of that size could run 3 to 5 dollars a foot.

Why would you want to do that? It's hotter, further away from the converter...

X2. Heat is a battery's worst enemy.

Agree with heat/cold statement. How much hotter would it be? Moving to front would receive breeze when underway (yea I used to be a submarine sailor). When parked air circulation would not be any worse than under stairs. Would allow easier access and would be higher above ground. The only thing missing is a batteries mount which is about two hours of welding and grinding assuming I don't set my ride on fire. If I do moving batteries is no longer a question. Then I will post "How do you put out a fire, when you have an idea go really bad"?

Why do you think it's an advantage to move them from where they are?
