Need help...ASAP

Reaching out to those who know...
Left this AM on our maiden voyage to FLA via NOLA...
In a rest stop right now. Our only cigar light does not work, so our Garnin is now dead. I found the fuse box under the hood and per the manual #22 is the fuse for the lighter...it is good, not blown.

Any suggestions where/what to look for would be helpful.

Thank you

Did you confirm the fuse was OK by just looking at it, or did you switch it with another fuse to check?

In a lot of the GPS units, there is a in-line fuse either in the cord or in the 12V adapter plug. Have you checked to see if that fuse is blown?

I have not checked the power cord to the GPS.
We have tested the cigar lighter where you insert the end of the power cord.
There is no power to the receptacle. .

Do you have any other 12V device? If so, plug it in the 12V receptacle. Did it power up? If yes, Let's test the Garmin.

Do you have the USB cable that tethers the Garmin to your computer or charger?
Can you plug it in to a laptop? If so, does this power up the Garmin?
If no, you could well have a dead GPS

There is an in-line fuse under the dash right by the receptacle. 7 amp. If it is like my 335DS.

Does your Garmin have it's own fuse in the plug?

Update !

I was looking behind the radio console and saw a 7.5 amp blade fuse. I had to remove the 6 screws from the face plate and pull it forward, radio and all. The fuse was blown !
Put a new one in and now we're on the road again.

Thank you to all !
We do appreciate your help.

On my rig you can reach the fuse just by looking under the dash by the receptacle. Glad you found it.

hate it when they hide fuses, it doesn't need to be that hard to locate a fuse.

I have blown that fuse more than any other in the RV. It is a good idea to keep some extra's around for the next time. They REALLY do not like small inverters plugged in to the cigarette lighter.

chrisbailey do you have an alterative? My new 369 has one 12V (cigarette lighter) connection. I ask FR why the 110 by passenger seat was not connected to the 2000 watt inverter. They said that the inverter was just for refrigerator. I am no electrician but I know that a 2000 watt inverter will run a lot more that one refrigerator.
I have bought a slitter with 5 outlets. We run the GPS, notebook, dash cam, and 2 cell phones off of it.
What is everyone else doing????????????

Jim,

I do...err well Silver does

Last year we installed this mod in our coach. It was dead simple (assuming you are comfortable snipping & splicing wires )

I now have ALL my 12V plugs (GPS, TPMS, Dash Cam) neatly tucked under the dash with minimal wire clutter.

I also like the Plexiglas cover Silver designed - awesome for suction cup and tacky-back mounts.

Here is a link to the 4-way 12V adapter:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And, in one of the 12V receptacles, we installed this:
https://www.amazon.com/RAVPower-Alum...2V+USB+Adapter

Oh, the Plexiglas cover for the access plate is another $15 or so dollars, so the total cost of this mod is under $30.

Bonus: your dash 12V receptacle is now available for other uses

The problem is that if they branched the inverter output completely, it would have to be after the transfer switch, effectively hooking those outlets to the same breaker as the reefer. If they did it in front of the transfer switch (using the second outlet on the inverter), it would be OK with the electrical code, but the outlets would go dead when you switched to generator or shore power and there would be no way of re-energizing them.

On my RV I installed another inverter and transfer switch in the rear power bay and cut into the non-GFI outlet circuit. That way all of the outlets on the driver's side of my coach (including those in the overhead) always work.
