Need help with replacing wiring for tow hitch connection
We have a 2014 Georgetown 328TS. Unfortunately, bottomed out coming out of a gas station where the ground was a bit unlevel and the receiver hitch on the back of the MH survived, but the connector (is it 7 pin?) is smashed and the bracket mount that had it attached to the receiver is damaged as well.
The part on the hitch is a Pollack brand and I have that part on order but the connector pin is smashed too and I have to replace the wiring and just can't seem to get parts info on that. I think it's a 7 way wiring harness to a 4 way wiring harness.
Currently not using the hitch, but would like to get it fixed so it can look nice again.
I know I probably shouldn't try to fix it myself, but it seemed like an easy fix....lol!!

You know I did the same thing. On the way home from the dealer. I don't feel so bad. I think I am going to get a new socket and mount it on top of the hitch. That connector is the lowest point on the coach. We haven't camped in it except in the driveway. Curious how you like it gas mileage etc. I will let you know how I fixed it. After tomorrow's snow!!!!! I sick of all this.

I got my 328 used with 5k miles on it about 1 1/2 half months ago. Spent 3 nights at a close by park a couple weeks ago. So far so good. Ready for another trip hopefully soon.

Frankly our gas mileage sucks. I've taken a poll here and everyone else seems to be getting 7 mpg. We usually get around 6 mpg. We do tend to keep our speed around 65-70 mph and we don't have a toad and we don't keep full tanks and cargo is fairly normal I would think. What are you getting?

This is how it looks. I've got the Pollack part on order but it looks like the wiring is the headache. Can't figure out the brand but I'm thinking it's not Pollack but a different wiring harness. Looks like a bit of a pain but really don't want to spend the time or money taking it back to the dealer to fix it.

For the most part it's a great rig. We're newbies to the motorhome so we don't have lots of experience. Just a few things we've learned about the 328TS...
1. Electric water heater switch is outside
2. Manual leveling is better than auto (our auto level was not calibrated correctly and it would put the rig at unsafe heights)
3. Awning can't be slanted permanently and retracted....our travel trailer allowed that.
Depends....we are newbies with previous experience with a 24' travel trailer.
Love the 328TS despite our newbie issues.

Ouch
You should be careful with that.
It has 12volts, ground, tail light and brake light power.
If the wrong wires (connectors) touch each other YOU WILL blow fuse/s.
Get some electrical tape from any hardware, most grocery stores and gas stations.
Carefully (with the key to the MH OFF) wrap each connector, don’t let them touch each other.
If it’s going to be awhile before you do the repair you need to put it in a ziplock bag and tie the bag up so that rain can’t get in it.

So, I received the replacement parts today but not sure which one I should be using. I think this is the RV connector?
Edited to say: "hmm, now looking at my broken parts picture, it looks like this might be the one to use....can anyone verify?"

This is the one that goes on the mh.
Here's a link with both, the one with the door/bracket goes on the mh.

Do the connections to the trailer plug affect the screen for the turn signals and reverse camera? All of the sudden the screen doesn't come on auto anymore when using the turn signals.

It could BUT first check EVERY bulb on the MH.
4 on the front, ? on the back, the cameras will not work correctly unless ALL bulbs are working/blinking.
I just cleaned the sockets on 4 of our running/turn lights to pass our state inspection.
If that's not the problem then you probably have a blown fuse.

The screen works on manual, just not when you put the blinker on. Checked all the lights since we are driving in dark....they all look like they're on. Will check again once stopped.

If just 1 of our front turn bulbs (common and well known trouble) is out
when we use that turn signal the screen will switch to that side but will not switch automatically back to the back camera.
Day or night.
Your tail and turn lights ARE active on the trailer plug, anytime the key is on

It looks to me like your trailer connector/wiring harness came as a fully manufactured component. I say this because the wires appear to be soldered or crimped to the blades of the connector. If you bought a Pollack connector like this one
you'll need to cut the wires from the old connector and attach them to the new one with the screws on the blades. Then you'll have to re-seal the back of the connector with electrical tape or something.
If your new connector already has the wiring attached, then you'll need to wire them in wherever your current wiring runs to. Or, if the wires aren't long enough, you'll probably have to just splice the two wiring harnesses together using butt connectors and then seal it with electrical tape.
