I got it hooked up thanks to some other post on this forum. Now the problem is finding the satellite!

I have a 2014 351ds I just picked up last weekend and was trying to figure this out too - how exactly is the Directv box connected to the tv/cable/satellite box?

We recently bought (about a month ago) a 2104 Columbus 365RL and when I went to test the various antenna, cable and satellite connections, some didn't work at all, and others seemed to be mislabeled.

Because, like many of you, I would like to hook up our Direct TV (in HD) and have it in both the living room and the bedroom. As for our DirecTV HR34 HD DVR being able to "talk" to DirecTV, it's has an ethernet cabel going to the WRT54GS wireless router and I have the router running in "Wireless Bridge" mode. Basically, it's like having any wireless access point (the park's, my phone's hot spot or my Verizon Jetpack) providing a wireless and wired (for DirecTV DVR) internet connection to the coach.

As far as switching from one source to another, that is handled on the TV's (HDMI 1, HDMI 2, TV / Cable)

Boy... Was I in for a surprise on how goofed up it all was. Basically, I grabbed an ohm meter, a couple of safety pins (for cable jack jumpers) and started tracing everything down, then drew up a diagram. The colors I used, were purely to help better visualize the layout. But the labels on the jacks are as they are in the coach.

I'm not a gambling man, but I would consider a wager that many of your RV's might have some similar cabling shenanigans going on and as such, my recommendation is that you just take about 30 minutes to an hour and trace it out your self and draw a diagram. (FWIW, I scribbled it on paper, then drew it out in Windows Paintbrush)

Anyway... here is my result.

I can not get my portable satellite to pick up a signal while plugged in through the park cable outlet next to the power cord. Wondering now if this is not used for satellite hook ups. I have a 2014 351DS - is there a pre-wire on the roof up front under what looks like a vent cap??

You have to remove the "Park Cable" wire from the back of the Antenna Booster control plate and connect it directly to your receiver. Here is what the back looks like:

You can do that temporarily or you can follow the advice given in this file from the FRF Library to make it easy to change when needed. http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...?do=file&id=97

There is a splitter in the Antenna Booster Control plate that messes up connecting satellite dishes thru it.

Perfect! Thanks Barry, I am new to the forum as I just purchased this coach. I can't believe on a 2014 they would make this so difficult!

2014 Georgetown 335 satellite receiver connect

I recently purchased this MH and would like to connect my Directv. I have a portable dish and receiver. I know I can connect the dish to the park cable connector. How do you connect the receiver to the tv? One, the tv is mounted on the wall. I can't get to the Red white and yellow connectors or the cable from the tv to the receiver. Two, I have no place to set the receiver due to the fireplace under the tv. What am I missing here??

We just purchased a new Forester with the roof Wingard Dome Satellite. I have not been able to activate it because the built in reciever is not communicating with the TV...any suggestions?
Thanks!

Ok, look in your Windgurd manual, and under settings you will have to change one or more toggle switches under the dome. The defualt is for Direct TV? easy to do, just remove the dome, you will see some dip switches and the manual will tell you which ones to move. Been there and done that, but easy.

I use Winegard carry out, bought on sale for 499. I have Sat at home base and use it with carry out, works good, just no locale channels. I hook Sat to cable inlet in my power cable compartment. My only problem is have to watch same program on bed tv as I have not yet figured out how to hook up my second box to bed tv.

Thanks everyone! I talked to tech support today and looks like I am going to have to wait til I can get to a CW to have them check the wiring. It appears that it was not configured correctly at the factory. Another one of those things we should have checked more closely during the initial walk thru

Can I use My DirecTV in To Test Coax in Coach

Hi, I have a 2016 Solera 24 R that I picked up a week or so ago. I have checked most of the plumbing and electric out and now am trying to figure out the TV and antenna in the RV. I have a King Jack on the roof and it seems to be hooked up to an outlet in the cabinet below. I have two Coax terminal outside, a simple blacken on riverside with a black cap over the female coax and a nice one on the passenger side under a flip up cover that is white inside.

I did not get a manual on the King Jack, but I'm assuming that it provide over the air TV signals that it can pick up. I haven't checkout the cabling yet so I don't know if it can see both front and bedroom TVs.

I have a DirecTV whole house setup with the Genie receiver and LCD TV in LR and I believe it connects to and uses my Cat 6 wiring and router to feed two receivers in two bedrooms.

My question is: is there a way to grab an output from the DirecTV setup and run a cox to either of the two Coax jacks on the left and right side of the Coach? Do I have to do something with the King Jack?

Anyone have a diagram of the coax for a newer Solera that they would post or PM to me?

Thanks for any help you can give me!

Pete
