Seems like I only noticed the bounce when I brought it in.
I believe most are saying that it only happens on the way in. My guess would be that there is a bracket or something that the bottom front edge of the slide hits when coming in and is "bouncing" over it. The slide may torque enough to raise it off the obstruction when going out. The fact that SternHappens has a gouge in the bottom of his slide may lay proof to this.

You can definitely see it bounce back down on the way out, not as pronounced because the resistance is more on the way in because I suppose it is popping up over the obstruction.
The warranty rep at the dealer said they ordered a "kit" to fix it, so that leads me to believe there is a known problem at the factory.

Hey SternHappens - Do you know if this "kit" is something that FR is recommending dealers to use to fix this, or is this just something they (your dealer) use based on previous experience? It would save me some time when placing a call to my dealer rep.

They haven't seen this issue before and as a matter of fact after they had it for several months when I picked it up I had to point out to them what the issue was. I had been in contact with Travis Bird from Forest River and once I explained all the various issues with the bedroom slide, he told me to get it in immediately to get repaired. At the dealer I was told once they called Forest River about it, they told me that a Kit was ordered, I took the conversation to mean that Forest River has been seeing the problem and has put together a group of parts to be replaced. Of course I am still waiting to get it back in to be fixed. Growing more impatient by the day...

I'm having this problem on an early 2015. It's caused a rip in the vinyl floors. I'm going to take it in for warranty repair. Will they be able to fix the floor rip? The vinyl floors are worrisome for me.

In theory they can put in a patch with a piece of the same pattern flooring. I first took my unit in on Oct 5, picked it back up on Dec 5 with a list of items "on order" from the factory including a piece of flooring to patch the bedroom the floor. Well still waiting for the parts to come in... in the mean time a piece of duct tape and a bath mat to cover it up whenever the slide is open.

I had a severe tear in the vinyl floor in my Sierra, from a rock that was caught under a slide. A guy from the factory had repaired it like an artist! There was a small bubble from the vinyl being stretched a bit, but you had to know where to look to see it.

My 2016 has the same issue going out. No floor damage yet but what is this kit you mentioned?

ID:	103346I don't have much confidence in the dealer I've been working with since I've been waiting for parts since sometime after Oct 5 when I turned my unit in, already having repairs approved form the factory. I picked it up on Dec 3 and they are supposed to "call me" when the parts come in. Waiting for pigs to fly I guess... We are leaving on a 32 day trip in 2 weeks, so I figure when we get back I'll just deal directly with Forest River and have them send me whatever is on the list directly. I took the bed deck apart again to see what I can do about re-engineering the bumping issue. The exact problem is Forest River did not properly engineer the bed part hanging off the slide. There is runners running down each side that as the slide comes off the rollers bump down onto the runners. The problem was the deck was not leveled in any meaningful way and was problem over 1/2" higher off the floor than the slide framing, therefore causing the dramatic bump as the slide goes in or out. Coming in it is bumping back up on the rollers, going out it is dropping off the rollers.
