Another thought- why couldn't the companies offer bonuses based on warranty claims(or lack of)? Possibility of annual or quarterly bonuses would encourage them to make sure the job is done right and help with worker retention.

Smile All is well

Well we took the 36b5 home yesterday and I am happy to report all is well! The door was replaced on the fridge and the unit was in great shape. The tech that repaired the problems and prepped the system went through everything with us. Everything was functional and the drive home was very enjoyable. Our dealer, Jim's Trailer Sales, we excellent and very enjoyable to work with. In this case, the dealer made the difference. As for Georgetown, they still should be ashamed to ship a vehicle without at least basic QC.

I’m a licensed general contractor for 39 years. I’ve just about everything that piece work screws up. The worst I saw was that the wall framers (yes, they are that specialized) cut every waterline and sewer pipe at slab level so that they could get the walls up faster. Otherwise they have to drill the bottom plate and lift the wall over vs just tilting it up. Since they were paid daily, they were gone before the problem was found and the framing company ate it.

Congrats on the new rig....
But here’s other stuff I see in the photo ‘cuz I’m OCD

Your street is narrow....how good a driver are your neighbours across the street when backing out of their driveway? They’ve been used to nothing being parked opposite them most of the time.

Make sure your steps don’t hit your curb when extending at home. Will they be close as people/cargo are added?

See what I have to put up with?

Great looking coach. I really like the new graphics design for this year.

Just for the record...Not all FR plants pay by the piece. When I toured the Wildwood/Sonoma factory I was told it has been left up to the plant manager's discretion. Wildwood/Sonoma(TT in Hemet,CA) has found that they have better results paying an hourly wage than piecework. No reason to go thru what you did but it is a beautiful coach. Happy camping!

I wouldn't doubt that they don't already have incentives in place, but you have to remember that this is a very complicated and long-winded process - many times months or years go by before a warranty claim is made....

...not to mention that these are complicated machines, with an off-grid house built on top, and a big part of these units are products, appliances, and devices built by other companies - it's never 'just' what the factory built, or 'how' they built it, or 'who' built it.

No manufacturing, for any assembled and built product in this world, is a perfect science. We might assume that there is no 'quality control' at the factory, at least to 'our' expectation, but I think you'd be surprised that there are times when a unit is rejected, for many and various reasons, and goes 'back' for factory repairs before it ever actually leaves the factory property.

It's also easy to assume that when an RV is received at the dealer that all 'issues' are immediately known - but that's far from actual reality.
Dealers are busy selling and servicing current customers, and aren't in the business of 'fixing' everything on a newly received RV, especially before the RV is even sold, as it is their time, their employees, their payroll, and their overhead involved, and in something that has yet to render a single penny in a sale.
After the sale, though, they can proceed with the customer on warranty repairs, because now the dealer has the ability to 'charge' the factory, offsetting it's costs to take care of this new customer.

Unless damage is caused by the driver delivering the unit from the factory, or a glaring issue that would interfere with customer's decision to purchase the unit, dealers don't just get to work 'fixin' everything they 'think' is a problem, at least until the unit is sold. Warranty only starts then, not when the dealer first receives it.

LOL!! No worries.. Our streets are narrow and you always have to watch if something is behind you when you back out. No, was just stopping home for lunch and to pick up the wife's car before it went over to the storage lot. Steps clear the curb fine but in load/unload mode the steps will be at the end of my driveway. Only time it will be at home is to load/unload.

Thanks!! Wanted to go full body paint but that was just out of the budget. Would have cut into other things I wanted to do.

LOL! Want to bet? You'll be bringing it home to wash/wax, learn everything about it, hang pictures of the places you've gone, and 100 other reasons. Ours spent more time in front of the house when we bought it than it did in storage!
Congratulations on the new coach! Enjoy!!

If they left that to be seen on the surface......what did they leave hidden?
I would’ve refused it and sent the pics to FR and ask them what they intend to do!!

I don't have a choice, my HOA limits 48 hours to load and unload an RV at a residence.
