New AC Compressor

Well having everything checked out and found that my ac compressor is leaking and need a new one. Thank god for extended warranties, factory warranty expired may of this year. Had it checked last year and they thought it lost the freon due to the Schrader valve leaking. Well least it will be fixed before we leave for goshen. Everything else looks great, hopefully this should be it. .

Glad you found it now. So was it just leaking and needs a recharge or is the whole thing being replaced?
See you soon.

Yes they are replacing the compressor, and the extended warranty is covering it. Glad they had one in this town and did not have to wait for parts. Replacing as i type.

Replaced mine last year. Apparently, according to the Ford service writer, its a known fault on the V10 engine. Sooner or later---take your pick!!!
My extended warranty excludes the engine AC compressor but does cover the 2 coach units. Go figure!!!

Ford AC compressor recently replaced here too. Thank goodness! It was 109 driving through the desert last week. We ran all AC's just to stay cool.

Being you are using your Georgetown year round makes it a valuable policy.

I'm going through this right now. My mechanic is having a hard time finding parts here, SC. I am not under any warranty so any ideas on what this might cost, parts & labor? I know minimum of at least $800.

Never mind. They just called me with a $1145 estimate. New compressor and dryers. They also confirmed that these Ford compressors have a history of leaking.

If you are paying out of pocket then call Auto Zone and they told me they could get the compressor for $260.00 and it carried a 2 year warranty. I know ford charged my warranty company 560 for the part and had the same warranty. If they are covering it then I would not worry. Hope this helps.

When our second one leaked I added a can of R234a ($6.88 at our Wal-Mart + less than $15.00 for a recharge hose.

Added another can this year, lets see $6.88 times 100 years...

Yes mine too went bad, had replaced in 2014, thank God before warranty expired. I wonder if the new will last, crossing my fingers.

What is the warranty on the Ford A/C? Always use the coach A/C when traveling. From what I have read, they are a problem.

I believe the warranty is 2 years bumper to bumper for all Ford components. 5 yr on drive train.
