I have a friend that has a 2018 Georgetown and has these new Dometic Capacitive Touch thermostats that have a Bluetooth interface to a tablet or phone.
I thought that was really cool and found the Capacitive Touch, Single Zone, Heat and Cool Thermostat with Bluetooth for only $26.89
The Dometic App is online at the App Store.
Anyway, I contacted Dometic and asked them if I could replace my old thermostat with the new without any other equipment change out like the AC box controller unit inside the AC compartment.
They asked me for my AC serial numbers so I am waiting for their reply.
Here is a picture of the old model I have.
Anyone else have input on the new CT thermostats?
I attached the new thermostat manual as it has some nice new programming feathers I don't believe is in the old one.
It should be a direct swap out for you. I changed my 3 "old style" digital Dometic thermostats in my toyhauler last year to the new CT t-stats. Unfortunately the bluetooth version wasn't available at the time I changed over, but it's just a simple 3-wire hook-up on each t-stat. I'm interested in changing the main unit to the bluetooth version, where did you find the great price on them?

It look like the Bluetooth version is about $75 US.
Thanks
Dometic Black Heat and Cool Bluetooth Thermostat Only 3316255.011
This thermostat controls one air conditioner and one furnace. Thermostat is black - also available in white.
Now available from Dometic, a Bluetooth Capacitive Touch (CT) single zone thermostat.
Was your RV made in 2011 or newer? If it is and you have a CT or LCD single zone thermostat from Dometic, you can simply remove the old thermostat from the wall and install this new Bluetooth model - no other parts such as the control box must be replaced!
The thermostat operates the same way as their original CT or LCD thermostats, but now allows you to control it with Bluetooth from your smart phone.
Simply download the free Dometic Thermostat Control app from iTunes or the Google Play Store and you are ready to cool down with your Dometic air conditioner.
I installed those in our 2014 GT.
Direct swap. Very easy.
Very convenient to be able to control from the phone and much easier to see since they light up.
The only complaint I have is the AC compressor cycles on and off too much once the set temperature is reached. Not sure if that is adjustable or not
edit... Just noticed in the manual you attached there is an adjustment for the temperature differential from 1 to 2 degrees. It is under the heater setting but might work for the AC also.

Personally, I hate the Capacitive touch thermostat vs. the hard-buttons. The Bluetooth version would be worth it, but switching just for the Capacitive touch would be a downgrade IMO.

I tend to agree with you about the capacitive touch, they are a little quirky, although the new touchpads that Dometic just sent me are a lot better than the ones that came with the t-stats. I really only upgraded for the backlighting, the original t-stats had no backlight and were very hard to see at night.

Wife likes the backlighted screen.
Not sure yet if its worth the upgrade for the cost.
The backlight and Capacitive Touch (CT) Non-Bluetooth is an upgrade
Price ranged $27 to $40
Black Non Bluetooth is p/n 3316250.012
White Non Bluetooth is p/n 3316250.000
With Bluetooth and CT price range is $70 to $90
Black p/n 3316255.011
White p/n 3316255.000
Just in case someone want to compare prices.
It seems all for sure are Single Zone for AC and Heat
I also do not like the capacitive touch. It sometimes worked and usually did not recognize the touch. I downgraded mine to the older click style, and I am extremely happy I did.
I guess if you used the BT feature then you don't have to deal the touchpad.
The one issue you might have is the newer models use an RJ11 type connector instead of the three bare wires.
One other point is that you need to reset your controller with the new thermostat or it will not work right.
I have a Nest thermostat in our home. It's nice to be able to set it to ECO or OFF from the road, should we forget to do so before leaving home.

However, I kinda' view this one as the height of laziness. How far will one be from the thermostat if inside an RV? And, if beyond Bluetooth range, it doesn't work from your smartphone.
Why?? Seems like a gimmick, and not much more.

What am I missing?

Well guess I'm just lazy then. I like the backlight feature most of all though.
Got tired of having to find a flashlight to view the settings on the old thermostat.
I like the remote control for my TV too.

I can certainly think of an incredibly valuable use for the Bluetooth feature. When we boondock in the winter, we usually set the heater to around the mid fifties when we’re sleeping, but that means it’s fricking freezing in the morning. So when I wake up I usually hop out of bed and run into the front room to bump up the temp a few degrees, then hop back into bed to let it warm up a bit before officially getting up for the day. A thermostat with a schedule would be even better, but I don’t think they make those for RV’s do they? At least with Bluetooth I can bump the temp from the comfort of my cozy warm bed without having to freeze my balls off running to the front of the RV.
We don’t have the Bluetooth version yet, but we’ve been wanting it forever and I’ll probably do it before winter this year. Plus the basic capacitive touch one has too many issues with it not responding to touch.
Just installed the two replacement upgrade thermostats and have used them both.
Other than the touch pad and the easy to read screen with a blue light they work identical ad the OEM ones.
Wiring was exactly the same.
Turn DC power off so you don't short the 3 wires when replacing them in the new unit.
Only thing I did was did a reset of the box.
Turn off thermostat and touch the up Arrow and Mode the same time until you get --- on the screen.
Shut off and turn back on.
The remote control box is reset for the AC unit and heaters.
I just increased my resale value of my motorhome by $1 maybe $2 because I have two of them.
Installed mine yesterday, can’t wait till hunting season in Nov and heating trailer without getting out of bed)) the three wires are an exact match to the new Bluetooth statAttachment 1
