It would be stable, it is still sitting on 3 feet, or pads, on each side. In my opinion it would be fine . Can a passenger sit on it, slide in or out of course that doesn’t change anything really. The above is my opinion, which I’m sure folks will disagree with and that’s their privilege. As for looks that is your call, I think it looks fine but again that’s my opinion.

I just guesstimated a length, can measure exact in the morning. We are considering doing that also. If fact the shade as installed in our unit, is a couple of inches below the window. We are looking at raising the bottom stop level and shorting the valance. Will take a couple of closeup pics and post them.

Very interesting, I went out to measure the valances and low and behold one side is longer than the other by about an inch, we have never noticed that. I strongly recommend measuring yours to be sure. Also, the wife was all concerned about recovering the bottom of it to look good and of course the obvious answer is to cut it off at the top where it can’t be seen. Good luck on yours.

Thanks for reply Jim. I think I like the three seater you chose vs the two seater I was originally looking at. I will wait a week or so until you complete your project before going forward. We are leaving for a week trip saturday for SC down to FT Jackson campground. I’ll plan on ordering a week from monday when we return. I will continue to follow this thread for any further lessons learned or advise you share. Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions.

No problem. How is the campground at Ft Jackson, we haven’t stopped at that one. We normally head to the Seabee base in Biloxi.

First trip to ft jackson its supposed to be on lake and has good reviews. We try to go out one week a month. Wife still has around five years until she throws in the towel and I still work a couple days a week prn at VAMC in Beckley to keep out of my recliner. Can highly recommend points west rec area near ft gordon ga, (appling ga). onslow beach at camp lejune, jacksonville nc and wateree rec area north of ft jackson ran by shaw afb. Wateree and points west are both lakeside and onslow beach is ocean front. The highest priced is onslow beach but on ocean with beach as nice as myrtle beach for 32 per night 50 amp hookup you cant beat the price. If you dont have the app download the ultimate military camp app in itunes. (Type in military campgrounds) the app is free and lists all military campgrounds nationwide with links to each campgrounds individual web site. Prices, rules, reservation numbers, reviews ect are all there to see. Take a look if you dont have the app I think its fantastic.

Jim we decided to remove 2" of the valance.
See Pictures. They seem to be equal lengths.

Now I have to decide how close I want to keep it towards the kitchen area.
When everyone is happy I will attach to floor of slide.

After messing with ours all morning we decided to just leave the valance alone and leave the recliner out with the front leg over the slide. I did some measuring, see the photo. Seems what I thought was the front of the side is actually the plastic strip. To be past the taper on the slide floor you have to go back about 3 1/2 “ past the plastic rub strip. That means moving the chair back 1 to 1 1/2 inches didn’t do anything except put the front chair foot on top of the plastic strip.
Now I’m working on a floor attachment system. Screw those suckers down and keep them in position. Will attach pictures tomorrow.

Jim that is exactly what I did on the install.
The recliners front plastic pads are just over the end of the slide wood.
So when the slide is out it will touch the white plastic strip when the slide floor drops in place.

I'm still glad I removed the 2" from the valance as it doesn't hit it directly now. My valance may have been long than yours. See pics

Have my 94” couch installed, took some modification to add some hold down brackets for the recliners, picture added: if you look t the picture you will notice I added 2- 1 1/4” fender washers under each foot on the side rail. I noticed that the side rail is mounted on top on the front and back rail and the foot pads are all the same height, adding the washers gets all the feet level.

On the 94” Couch the 36” center section base is a plywood box with foot pads in each corner. The front foot pads overhang the front of the slide so the box is in contact with the slide floor. I added a 2 x 4 sub brace and moved the feet back now it sits properly and on top of the slide, picture:

Funny thing about this the sofa is “supposed” to be 94”. We should have 4” difference, we have 9”.

There were no 378 models available when we shopped back in the fall of 2010, so we have and love our 330TS.

The spacing for a replacement to the OEM bed/sofa (which was uncomfortable at being either) is somewhat smaller than your distances because we’re only a 33 foot model Georgetown versus your 37+. By the way.....the studio chair seen in the photo can move wherever we need it if there’s a need to recline the end closer to the driver’s seat.

Here’s some pix of our setup. It’s shorter end to end, but the space between the end and the kitchen counter allows me to store our outdoor television in between when we decide to bring it along. The space was naturally created when I centered the loveseat under the valance window unit. Our loveseat reclines just underneath the valance without modifying it at all......but boy it was close
