New Georgetown Warranty Question...

I'm looking at a new Georgetown 328 at my local dealer (who I prefer.) However they only have 2015 models.

Another dealer a ways away has really nice pricing on several remaining 2014s.

My question is this, if I purchase a Georgetown from one dealer can I take it to another for warranty serving? Can it be serviced under warranty at other service locations like Camping World for example?

Any Forest River dealer should be able to do warranty work. We bought ours through a company out of New York, picked it up in Pennsylvania and had warranty work done in Maryland

The RV industry isn't like the auto industry when it comes to performing warranty work. A dealer will usually take care of customers who purchased from them first and put people that didn't purchase from them on the 'waiting list'. One difference is if you're on the road a dealer will usually take care of you as a courtesy so you can be on your way. FWIW I wouldn't take any camper to CW for any warranty work. I've read horror stories on another forum which I won't name.

To answer your question, yes. I actually drove 800 miles to get our GT to save $12K. I have had warranty work performed locally. 8 miles away.

In theory, yes. The reality is, from what I have personally experienced, that if you haven't purchased the vehicle from them... you become a 2nd or 3rd class citizen. You'll EVENTUALLY be taken care of but we're talking about weeks and months at a time. YMMV

Sounds like some Rv dealers are willing to do the warranty work for you, even if you bought somewhere else. I had an experience here in my hometown where the local FR dealer doesn't wanna mess with my RV because we didn't buy it from them!! I also bought at dealer in another state, but I found a non-FR dealer that has taken awesome care of me and my RV needs! Even warranty work!! It all just depends on the dealer and how hungry they are!

Read the last page on the Georgetown Brochure, bottomline, other than where you bought it from may or may not provide warrenty service, it's up to the independent owned dealer.
