New GT XL 378TS

Set to take delivery next week of our new 378TS. Just found out it has an all electric fridge, powered by a dedicated 1000W inverter and 2 Exide 105AH batteries. I did get him to change the batteries to Interstate 31-AGM7s. Does anyone know the AH rating of said battery ? It has a published RC of 182 minutes. Can that be equated to AH capacity? Dealer yet has to divulge the make/model of new fridge, other then 22.5 CF. Anyone know?

Congrats on the 378TS!

So you have the 4 door refrigerator and it runs off batteries 100% of the time?

Mine runs on batteries while travelling and plugs into the standard 120 volt AC outlets when plugged into shore power.
You sure it is an invertor or is it the battery charger in the cargo bay with shore power?

Where is it located? A picture would be cool.

The batteries are 810 CCA each

Actually it should be a Samsung 22ft residential unit. I might be wrong on the brand but I saw them at the Tampa show.

Congrats on your 378. Mine has a four door fridge that runs on electric when plugged in and propane while driving. It is a 2013. Good luck.

Which type refrigerator is the best to get? I do not plan on doing any boondocking, but may do a Walmart or rest area stop sometimes.

Hello:

We are in the process of comleting the purchase of our 378XL and I find we have the same fridge. I am concerned about the battery longevity with the current inverter. What will the updated batteries do in terms of increasing the time you can run the fridge and anything else you may want to link to this inverter? Are you considering adding an additional battery or extra inverter?

Thanks,

Uncle Al

The ref ridge doesn't use lots of energy to begin with. While the engine is running, everything the batteries provide will be made up by the alt. When in a park, the power is direct. If those two big batts can't hold for a night at Walmart, they're no good anyway. Many "A's" have 117 volt fridges.

I know if I was ordering our 378 now I would seriously consider the residential fridge.
I have had the Dometic fridge replaced when the coach was new. Since that have had Dometic fix the seal on the freezer door and a leak from the drain. Last week they replaced the fans. The water dispenser only works some of the time and the ice maker i not working.
