No longer Newbies, weíve had it 5 days now!

Got our 378TS Tuesday and just got back from our first weekend trip.

Have an appointment already with the dealer to take care of two things he didnít get done before the trip and added a few more thing to his list. Not bad though!

We also came across a few questions that we have to ask him:
  • Are thee alternate cup holders? Why is the bottom of the cup holder so small, nothing fits!
  • The only way to watch a DVD for the kids is to use the Pioneer display in the dash. Is there a way of turning it on without putting the key in the ignition? How do you say, watch this, we'll be right back?
  • Why is the main gas line over the largest storage compartment?

We are taking it to him tomorrow afternoon. If anyone else has any questions to ask about the 378. Let us know!

on my 2005 GT, there is a switch on the dash that powers the in dash radio/DVD player and bypasses the ignition. It has a music symbol.

I just had to giggle at this, "No longer Newbies, we’ve had it 5 days now!"

I think when you get your first ding or scratch THEN you're no longer a newbie!! :-)

Agree on the switch - we can use it to turn on radio without the key in our 351.

Newbies

Agreed I think the worst thing Forest River did was to install a DVD player/Radio combo in the dash. Mine a 2014 335 came with a Jensen radio/DVD I did away with it and installed a GPS combo in dash instead. Then went to Walmart and bought a Toshiba DVD player very its small and also has netflix and vudu for when you are at a campground with wifi. I installed it above the main tv and one also in the bedroom. This way kids can control just like at home and I use the unit up front for driving/gps/backup camera. I know this is long winded but somehow having a DVD player in the dash instead of near TV makes no sense except for dollar sense.

We demonstrated our lack of knowledge very well at teh dealer today

There are no alternatives for the cup holders, have to find cups and classed that fit properly in the holders they supply.

Everyone was right, there is a switch to turn on the Radio without the key.

What I thought was a gas line was a hydraulic fluid line, still have to avoid it.
