Not all Front Shades are MCD

I had always just assumed that my electric windshield shade was made by MCD. I guess I thought is was an MCD because the reprogramming sequence for their shade seems to work.
After removing it for a problem with a broken wire MCD was very helpful, but after looking at the pictures they requested, let me know that it was not one of theirs. Called the parts department at FR and they were also very helpful and let me know that the shade in my MH was manufactured by United Shades. Greg in the parts department said three manufacturers have been used since 2012 and actually only the late 2014 models and the 2015's have the MCD shades.
Good news is United Shade has been telling me step by step how to disassemble the shade to remove the motor and fix my problem. They are also giving me a part number to purchase a replacement motor with a remote control even though they don't normally sell that motor separately.
(DW really wants the one with the remote)
I have attached pictures of the broken wire and motor to show what to watch out for. The edge of the shade actually rubbed on the wire causing it to break right where it comes out of the motor not leaving enough to splice it without taking the motor apart.

Really not too bad actually once the tec told me how it comes out. Six screws to take the shade down after disconnecting the three power wires, then remove the end cap from the frame and the motor slides out.
My main reason for posting, which I forgot to mention, is that United Shade knows this is an issue and the technician said receives 4 to 5 calls a week sometimes for this problem. The design is being modified to prevent the shade from rubbing the wires when it rolls up and down. So it appears I'm not the only one with this problem. Thought I might give others something to watch out for.

Ahh! Very nice of you. I'm thinking ours is a MCD, since it's a 2015. It's great everyone has been so helpful too!
