My new 2017 Ford came from the factory with Bilstein shocks.. I am wondering if these are of the same quality Bilsteins that are bought aftermarket. My RV still rides pretty rough. If anyone wants to make a large donation I can take RV to Brazels RV and get some upgrades!!!!!Thanks!!
I know over on the Silverado forums they say the OEM Goodyear tires are not as good as the ones sold aftermarket but I have not heard that about shocks.

After 52k mikes on my 2010 FR Georgetown, the ride was very rough. King man Az to Flagstaff was horrible. Felt every crack, bump and shake. Just replaced the original Bilsteins with new Koni's. They have made a big difference but not as much as I wished. Still shakes and bangs on the rough, broken roads but overall much better. Michelins and the leaf springs may need help.
sumis, safe T plus steering stabilizer, Helwig Rear Roll bar
I added sumi springs, safe T plus steering stabilizer, and Helwig additional Rear Roll bar to my RV as soon as I brought it home. It greatly improved ride & performance.
They are different. I've installed both Sumo spring and none OEM Bilstein shock (in silver housing). I did Sumo spring first. The sumo spring took away rough ride but created too many up and down after bumps, perhaps shocks went bad. With new Bilstein shock, the ride became much more acceptable for me. Not sure how much will it make difference with shock alone. But heard from many people that Koni shocks noticeably softens ride
I have lighter chassis and cost of springs alone came out to about $1200. Did the installation at home. Amazon.com was the cheapest with free shipping. Took about a full day to install
