Onan 5500 Cover
Somehow during my travels I managed to lose the cover of my Onan generator. Anyone have an extra or know of a junkyard or shop that might be a source. I would hate to pay retail but will if I have to.

No, sorry I don't know where to get one.
I just wanted to ask if you thought you lost it by leaving it somewhere or if you think it fell off while driving down the road?
I could only imagine what the vehicle behind you might have thought if that large rectangular panel came tumbling out from under while going down the highway.

Cover
It must have come off as I was driving. Its mounted in the front of my chassis in place of the engine. There are two open spaces at the sides where it could have worked its way out. I hope nobody got damaged behind me!
Now I have to order a new one cause the manual warns not to run without it and cause an overheating condition.

Cover from Onan
I called a local dealer and got a fairly high price. Called Onan and for about $100 got a cover, cover grommets and a new air filter. I am going to screw the cover on with one screw so I don't have this problem again. Running without the cover will burn up the generator. I got an email about this issue from a Tiffin owner who has a screw mounted by Tiffin. Check your covers!
