onan fuel pump

I have determined that my Onan needs a new fuel pump..It is a 5500 Gold on a 2009 Georgetown SE 340TS which we purchased last week..Where is this pump located?I am also going to need help getting my TV cable system figured out..I can get tv on front and b ak tvs on the crank up antenna, but only signal on the back tv when connected to park cable..
the fancy little cable box has NO coax going in to it.Thank you for your time..

Take the cover off of the generator. Hold down the "Stop" button (which is also the primer) and listen for the clicking sound. That's the fuel pump. It should located under the front left of the genset.

One question.....how have you determined it's a bad fuel pump?

It's underneath the generator with the fuel filter attached to it on the left side. Mine just died and I replaced it. It started acting up last October while we were at Talladega Speedway. It would run for an hour or two and then stop. During a storm last month it would run for a couple minutes and then stop. Finally it wouldn't start at all.

Generator wouldnt run..I disconnnected fuel line and put it in a bottle and did PRIME,no fuel..connected another line and gravity fed fuel into generator, ran like a top,so I deduced that the fuel pump is dead,,,,.

I think you're right. It sounds like a bad fuel pump.

Yes, they're the same, but Onan now suggests replacing the one at the carb with a fitting,A026E529. They say dual filters aren't necessary. The newer ones only come with the filter at the pump.

I bought mine at RV Plus for about $20.

Also, do you have more than 1/4 tank of fuel? Genny won't run otherwise. You might also check for a pinched fuel line between the tank and filter. Not uncommon, either.

As for the missing cables to the RF switch box, it sounds like the previous owner may have done some changes, and then removed some stuff when he sold the RV.

Freds, thanks for the reply, the fuel tank is at 3/4..the pump makes no sound or fuel when on prime..I will just have to dig around in the cable system to get some answers on the tv system.
