Onan Generator

Started the genset in mid to late April - no problems it took right off. Today I tried starting it again and nothing. I did the prime as per the manual but still nothing. This is in a 2010 Georgetown and has not been used except for following the instructions (i.e. starting and running monthly etc.) Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Well, you left some things out. If it is gas, you need at least 1/4 tank of fuel in the tank. If it is propane, did you urn the propane on? Since it is that new, doubt you have any wear problems, so you need fuel, and spark, should have compression. Check for fuel, and check for spark at the plugs.

Are your house batteries fully charged?

I think I'm right in this, but the generator needs the 12 volt house batteries to kick it of, so may sure they're fully charged.

Had the same problem yesterday, after three tries I pulled the side cover off and turned the circuit breakers off, it started right up and ran fine, engaged the breakers and it ran fine. Shut it down after about 10 minutes of running and it restarted just fine. I did not have any electrical load engaged when it would not start. This is my 4th Onan and the first time this has ever happened. No clue why. Today it started fine, just checked while typing this post.

Thanks for everyones input. I turned the breakers off and back on again and great news it started. Let it run awhile and then put some load on and everything worked great. Stopped and started it again the next day and it took off no problem.

Make sure you run the generator often with a load. Also, put Stabil in the gas tank if your rig is going to sit for a while, make sure you run your generator to pull some of the treated gas into the carb. Heard the carbs are really bad about clogging up if you don't run them often.
