Sunny in Northern Ontario. Come on up!
Seriously stay safe everyone. As said by others - things are expendable but people aren't.

Head west into Arkansas or Oklahoma. No one really knows where Irma is really going to go.

Be aware that there may still be local gas shortages and stations out of gas, fallout from Harvey.

Be safe!

Watching closely. Have a two week trip planned to Asheville next week and Gatlinburg following week. Could be wet trip if track holds.

Not the same as others though so I hope anyone in the path stays safe and family / friends as well.

Watching the 5:00 update. We might be best right where we are. Gas is already getting scarce here. If all we get is a 1 or 2 we are better off staying and using the fuel for the generator if we do lose power. Still keeping a close eye on it though.
DW just told me some friends of ours leaving FL took almost 12 hrs to make the normal 5 hr trip up to Georgia

The 8 and 11 PM update shows I'd be staying. Thankfully, the NW track shows coastal NC with nothing but tropical storm wind and rain. I know police and some others are required to stay but those that have decide to stay in FL~~ are doing the gene pool a favor.

A little comprehension is required. Can you see the part about those "REQUIRED" to stay? My comment you take as an insult with was directed to those that "DECIDED" to stay. Send me your address and I'll send a dictionary so you can find the meaning of those two words.
Those that find themselves STUCK there need to call the nearest county emergency management center and they will be transported to a shelter and water will be provided (if you bring pets you will need water for them). I gave no advice in that comment, my prayers that are with those, even those that DECIDED voluntarily to stay. So, IF you DECIDED, voluntarily to stay, you are thin skinned. Good luck!

I think it was very kind and generous to open the race tracks to those who are evacuating! Perhaps someone in Texas should take note of this and learn how to open something to people in need. Stay safe!

Well looks like North and South Carolina are not going to get too much from this storm. Only 35 to 45 mph winds and some rain here.. Glad we stayed put.
It is really scary watching those that are evacuating sitting in that traffic and trying to find gas. Many of the stations in this area are out and have been since Wednesday.
My thoughts and prayers are with all those people that they get out safety and all those that are going to be affected in the coming days and weeks.

Well we are at Moosehead Lake in northern Maine. Sunny and cool. A few showers but no storms. Hiking to waterfalls. Seeing Moose and deer in the back country. Cool nights and high 60's daytime. Boarded up my house in Florida for the summer before we left in June. Headed for Boothbay in a few days for some lobster!
