Packed Up Ready to Go
Well the MH is gassed up, full of water, and that big residential fridge is fully stocked.
Question is which way to go? Still watching Irma trying to figure that out.

We are outside of Charleston SC, about 40 miles inland from the coast.
With everyone evacuating Florida, if a hurricane comes up our way the roads, hotels, and RV places our filled with folks leaving Florida and Georgia coast.
Most of the time we will just stay put if it is a CAT 2 or less.

Atlanta motor speedway or talladega. Both have opened their tracks and are allowing rvs to stay free of charge. Just saw that on IRV2. Good luck.

TALLADEGA, Ala. (ABC Reports) — Beginning the morning of Thursday September 6th, Talladega Superspeedway will open parts of its campgrounds to Hurricane Irma evacuees seeking temporary refuge.
The free accommodations include hot shower and restroom facilities, as well as water hookups on gravel and grassy areas.
Evacuees are invited to bring their campers, trailers, and other vehicles to the Winner's Walk I reserved RV area outside of turn one. Signs around the main entrance will provide directions to the reserved campgrounds. Dump stations are located on the premises as well.

Same for Atlanta speed way. Now open and will provide hot showers and rest rooms. Big areas to park in. Later RJD

Come on out to sunny southern Arizona. The weathers fine, a little warm still but no hurricanes or fires around here.

Use GPS and look for secondary roads if the primary roads are jammed.
Anywhere Northwest. Better safe than sorry.

IM on the SE NC coast. Looks like a cat 1 here Tuesday early morning. Asked my neighbor why buy all that milk as if the power is out opening the fridge will cause it to go bad. Then the 2 with trailers of gas cans being filled. They are not bright enough to wonder why the stations will go dry. 😂 The bread one lady bought for her and husband will last 3 years. Some prepare, others are just stupid. We see this level storm often. Must be all the new northerners???

It is not up to us to stand in your shoes. If you live in Charlestown SC, you should know about and use the most suggested routes to go. A full tank of gas will only get you so far out (west?) and then the logistics to get back. Load a few gas cans in the RV with you and only use that if needed to get back home when this is gone by. Caused damage estimates is already very high and power and fuel may be very hard to come by in the first couple of weeks after this storm is gone.
Stuff is replaceable, people are not. Be safe and vigilant.

Charleston ~~ with the new change of track I'd wait until morning. Going west may not be a good idea unless going far. Right now in C-ton I'd be considering Willow Tree CG in Longs SC or a few of those along (not on) the NC SE coast. I live here and things just looked better than the Cat 1 projected before now. Looks like C-ton may be Cat 1 or less and those come often!
