are you saying that it has a separate switch, or one on the light itself?

I’m not near my 329 right now, but seem to remember it has a switch on the dash and operates separately from the drivers side.

Lol, sounds like something I’d do, but I’d blame the dog. Glad you figured it out.

Same issue, not the same solution...

OK, our 2019 378XL has a similar issue, but not. The map lights are off via the panel switch. However, the left (driver side) map light remains on. We last checked on our coach two weeks ago, returned today to find the batteries dead. Had to jump the coach and then run generator to charge up. After a few hours we shut down again (all power turned off, yes all power off), and did a double check of all possible power usage. The map light did not go off, waited over 30 minutes, still on. Went and disconnected coach battery. Light still on. What the ????

Anyone got any ideas?

Wish I could tell you Georgetown motorhomes are wired the same....but I’d be lying.

The pattern of these beasts is there is no pattern.

If you disconnected the coach battery....is that the one under the hood in the engine compartment or the ones typically found under the steps?

It’s not cast in stone, but....

House batteries are under the steps....usually installed by Forest River
Chassis battery is under the engine hood.....usually installed by Ford.

Well...

Yes, the engine battery. The reason I did this was because we previously owned a 2015 FR3 30DS, which had several items that remained "powered" until I would disconnect the engine battery. One item was the coach map lights, USB, and all dash power. So for Winter, I always disconnected the engine battery, problem solved.

2019 Georgetown 378XL... different beast. I did nat expect to have to disconnect every bank of batteries in order to turn off a map light. Maybe that little map light is haunted, on nuclear power, or wired to a hidden battery under the bathroom sink??? But is is draining power for sure...

Last resort will be to pull the power from the light, or ?????

Ours is wired like this: The backlight dimmer switch/roller on the drivers armrest controls the drivers side light. The switch located on the center console controls the passenger side. Sounds like the roller switch is rolled all the way up (bright). Neither switch will turn on both lights at the same time.

Yep, that worked!

Thank you for the advice. The dimmer was the answer. This forum is great for great answers and great people!
