Peeling paint

Has anyone else had this problem? The paint has been steadily peeling off the white molding on the side of my motorhome. It is part of the partial paint. Up until recently, it was only a little chip on the rearmost molding (the one on the far left below), and it wasn't worth worrying about. Recently, not only did that get bigger, but the other moldings on that side started to peel as well. The latest (the one just to the right of the first one) just appeared, and the motorhome didn't move. It was just sitting in a heavy rain. I can get the dealer to touch them up, but how can I prevent this from happening again?

Sounds like the coach wasn't prepped properly. Have you contacted FR? They might pay to have the coach fixed at a local paint shop as opposed to constantly touching it up.
Send some pictures and details to Steve Stombaugh. Never hurts to ask.

Paint Issues

I have a new 2013 Sunseeker with full body paint. On mine it is not peeling but the paint job around the locks were very amateur. It appears they taped off the locks and just sprayed it instead of removing and reinstalling the locks. So there basically is no paint behind the locks. I am about to address with forest River.

On my 5th wheel, they seem to have installed the wheel skirt/fenders and caulked them before painting. The paint is now lifting on the caulk.

The camper goes back to the factory next month for slide-out issues and I'm going to push for this to be resolved properly.

I wonder if FR has changed painting vendors or are they now doing it in house? My coach was done by Performance Painting Systems but that was 2006 when they first started offering Full-Body paint jobs. The paint job on my coach was excellently done. Other than 2 areas where they siliconed around the compartment locks that had a small area missing it was flawless. Looked like an air bubble that popped and it left the spot without any silicone sealing the corners.

The paint job on my 2014 looks like a third grader did it. Peeling paint, dry runs, and over spray, I do not have the full body paint just the partial. I visited the factory back in April and watched them build GT's and GT XL's. I observed the people in house doing the partial paint and it was terrible. But again, you have to look at the price point and I have just kinda accepted it. But on the other hand, what I call more important issues, FR has been very very responsive and has fixed all most of the issues. The jury is still out as to whether I will buy another one, but we will see.

I agree, the price point is good. I got a chuckle how they painted over the low drain point sticker though...I should post a pic of that.

Maybe they have Earl Scheib working for them.
