Pot and Pan Storage

We've been simply layering a rubber shelf lining sheet cut to size between pans and then wrapping the whole kit and kaboodle in towels to stop them banging around and scaring the inside of the cabinet as we travel. There must be a better way. I'm not proud I'll steal your idea in seconds.

I've been thinking about a thin plywood cubby hole arrangement with slots for lids and custom sized bins for each pan. Put cloth or cork on the surfaces to prevent damage and away we go.

Any thoughts? Suggestions? Pictures?

Your method is a valid as any. I don't use any method other than careful stacking so that things don't rattle.
I've heard of people buying a bundle of clean shop towels (the red things that mechanics use) and place those between pans and dishes. They are generally thinner that wash cloths, but still provide separation and sound dampening.

We don't seem to get much "rattling" from the kitchen area, but, the fireplace drives us nuts from the "rattling" it puts out while going down the road.

Cosco sells large rolls of "non-skid" foam-like material. We use it between pots, dishes and any other rattling items seems to work great. Good luck!

I think your method is tried and true. Worked well for me in my Motorhome days.

Thanks for the Costco suggestion but I already bought and used that stuff to layer pots.

Went to The Container Store today and bought a zippered closeable box for wine glasses. It has partitions inside that use velcro to change configuration. Viola, the pans, lids and most pots are inside along with the Costco insulation stuff. No banging, scratching inside or out. The box fits wonderfully under the cooktop in my rig. Now when we need a pot or lid we just pull the box and break out the cookery! Found some other ideas there too. Try it yourself.
