Power assisted driver's seat

One option on new Georgetowns is a power drivers seat. Exactly what does it do, and is it worth the additional $500?

I have it in my 14 and would say yes. Much easier to adjust to a comfortable position than the passenger seat. Mine does not have any lumbar adjust, mainly just slides forward and back and adjusts the angle of the bottom cushion. The back is still a manual adjust on mine but may be different on the 16's.
I would have had one put on the passenger side also if that had been an option. Not that the comfort is still anything to brag about but still better than the non powered IMO.

I have one on my 378, and like it. Moves in small increments and goes up and down. Good for drivers comfort.

Definitely a good option to have. Keeps you from getting so tired when driving due to you being able to adjust the seat a bit to change positions. If you decide not to do it now and want it later, the power seat device is simply a frame that goes between the seat pedestal and the seat. You would have to get a shorter pedestal to install it later, but it can be added on. That said, the $500 price tag does not seem out of line and I would buy it now if possible.

A 6 way adjustable drivers seat should be standard equipment in all RVs. Actually, there should be one on the passenger side also. We have a Sunseeker (X2 Wolverine 1945) and the pillow arrangements we have made up just to drive this unit 350 to 450 miles per day is "arghh". We have been looking at entry level Class A units, some have an adjustable seat most do not. I pointed this out to the salesman showing us a class A, and he explained that they are trying to keep the costs down on entry level units. Upon further investigation of this model I'd say they've accomplished that. Price was $79,000. We looked at a nice Newmar and the power seat was in there for $386. I think most entry Winnebagoes have them also.

What I am thinking is that once I get the seat adjusted the way I like it, I am not going to be changing it, or if so, manually moving it should not be too difficult. I don't see how you would really need a motorized seat for that???

As Daddio said, small incremental changes. This is nice to alternate driving positions if you're driving for a long time so relieve cramps, etc. and make for a more comfortable drive. Done easily while driving down the road.

My power assisted driver seat will adjust to different positions that the manual seat will not. I can get much more comfortable in it than the passenger side.

The drivers seat in my old 03 F150 also has a 6 way power assisted seat,,,
Love the way you can change the angle of the seat !!!
Years ago we had a Taurus that had a 8way !!!
That would even squeeze your buns !!!
