prodigy P2 brake always powered ?

I have a georgetown 2011 35ft. I installed a prodigy P2, using the Ford wiring harness in the dash. All works fine but, the controller is powered, and the display is on even if the key is off. My question is do I have to install a switch on the power wire, so that I can turn it off. If left on I'm sure my battery will drain and go dead. Any suggestions !!!!!!!!!

It will turn off after a few hours. Your radio will drain your battery faster. As long as you crank up once per month, nothing to worry about.

Mine does the same...it eventually turns off....no dead battery yet. Whats weird is that the prodigy in my SUV and the F150 goes off right away but the one in the Titan stays on for a little bit before turning off. I wouldve thought the blinking light from the vehicles' alarm systems would run down the battery faster than the brake controller and that hasnt happened either. LOL
