Propane tank

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know what size propane tank is in the georgetown 377 xl. I thought it was 40 lb tank, but that would be 9 1/2 gal. When I filled it last month, it took almost 11 gallons. It is not listed in spec. sheet on F.R. website. Would like to know for future reference. Thanks in advance.

Propane tank

My 2013 378 XL has a 23.8 gal tank. There are 4.2 lbs per gallon of propane. Equals 100 lbs per tank. Keep in mind you should never fill more than 80% of capacity for safety reasons by law.

When I filled the tank, the gauge read between 1/4 & 1/2 . So if it were an 80lb tank it should hold 19 gallons. That would be about right. It took @ 11 gallons so had @6 or 7 gallons left if only 80%% full to start with. Sounds correct.

Propane tank

Read the tag on the tank itself. It will tell you how many gallons the tank holds. Then use that figure and multiply by 4.2 then times 80% (fill to amount) to get the total weight of propane in the tank.
My propane supplier uses the vent valve to determine how much to put in.
I would think the 377 and 378 propane tanks are the same size.
