Purchased a 2013 351DS and picking up tomorrow
Good day everyone! I wanted to introduce myself to the group. My name is Chris and I just purchased a 351DS; upgrading from our 2012 Keystone Passport 2650BH which we purchased last summer. I told my wife, last summer, that I wanted to go Class A out of the gate but she was hesitant. Thus, we did a year in a trailer but then I "persuaded" her to upgrade for this summer!
I'm really excited to pick up the unit. I live in WI and am driving my truck and trailer to Iowa to trade it in and pick up my new Georgetown. This will be my first Class A so I'm a bit overwhelmed right now. I'm frantically reading through this forum to glean any knowledge which is out there from the community!
My unit has the over the driver's bunk as well as the residential refer as the main options. I was just curious with anyone that has the residential fridge, how long does it take to cool and defrost? With our trailer, I'd pull it into our driveway the night before and turn everything on so it'd be cold the next day for travel. Does it take about the same amount of time?
Any other nuggets of wisdom are greatly appreciated as well!
Chris

Welcome Chris!!! And congrats!
I am picking up my 351DSF on Sat! Have the same options as you. Cant wait to put all kind of seafood and meat in that Fridge!!! I have to do some research on the Res fridge for winterizing it. Ice and water lines.. I am sure it's no big deal. Trading in my 31j class C for the A. Cant wait and good luck!

We've had the 13 351ds for about a month. The fridge cools down pretty quick, just 2-3 hours, and it has a temp display on the outside which is nice. That is in cooler weather so it may take a little longer in the summer of course. I haven't done any research on winterizing the fridge yet, need to do that. We've just left it winterized for now and we haven't been on any long trips where it's been an issue. Driving it is much easier than I expected, you'll be great at it by the time you get home! Lot's of us newbies buying the 351ds this year. It's an awesome family coach, and we'll all learn together this summer!

Okay...we've established that most of us are geeks in the group! LOL We have a family of 4...Ruthie (wife and teacher/school counselor), son (13), and daughter (9). We just started camping last year. Bought a 2012 trailer last year and upgrading tomorrow!
I have also joined the 351DS group! Does anyone have any trips planned for the summer yet? We're attempting to lock down a DC trip for the 2nd week of July. Since Ruthie doesn't work summers and I can work from anywhere with connectivity, I think this summer is going to be one big road trip.
I'll post some pics tomorrow once I finish up all the paperwork!

fullenw - we emptied out our trailer of 5 years and it filled half the garage! When I went to clean it out to sell, I thought it would take a couple of hours - 3 hours later I was still just emptying stuff out of it. How do we accumulate all of that stuff in such a small place?

Well... I'm back from my journey today! What a long driving day. Almost 4 hours each way... however it was TOTALLY worth it! :-) Now the fun will begin tomorrow when we move everything back in from the garage from the old trailer!
I have to figure out how they do images on here so I can share a couple!
