Question about using Winegard RV roof mounted satellite TV for DISH

In 2014, we purchased a 2011 Georgetown 337DS XL (33') motorhome. We are the second owners of the motorhome.

The RV came with a Winegard RV roof mounted satellite TV antenna set up for DISH. Until recently, we never gave the Winegard satellite TV a thought. We did not subscribe to satellite TV at home. We never thought about having satellite TV in the RV.

Life changed yesterday. We decided to drop cable TV at home and replace it with DISH satellite TV. As part of the transition, we decided to set up the satellite system installed on the roof of the RV to work with DISH. We were in luck. It was already wired and ready to go. DISH installed a RV 211 receiver, hooked everything up, and it worked like a champ!!!!

Today, we returned the RV to where we park it. The last step in closing up the RV for temporary storage was to turn off the house power in order to not drain the house batteries.

At the moment that we turned off the house batteries, we wondered whether the "downloaded software and setup" of the receiver was stored in the RV 211 receiver. We assumed that if this is not the case, that the next time we turn on the RV 211 receiver, we will have to go through the Winegard receiver doing it's "find the satellite" process and then re-download and install software again. Hopefully not. If yes...bummer!

Have any of you gone through this process? When we turned off the "house power" in the RV did the Winegard server lose its mind?

Your comments will be greatly appreciated.

When you next use the RV SAT you will need to turn it on and if your paid up on your subscription it should continue to work. It will need to find the SAT again but it will not need to reinstall any software unless it needs additional at that time.
The only thing you will download is the TV Guide of your present subscription and location within your home port.

FYI DISH has a pay as you go program for RVers that you pay a month to month fee when travelling and will automatically stop working if you don't need it for the next month. You do pay in advance when you call them but you don't pay any fees to start. Well you really do by paying about $10 more than you do on any annual subscription.

I have activated mine about 4 times over the past few years while travelling and works great for me.
Hope this helps you. Good Luck
