We have directv. When we upgraded two years ago to a Genie they let us keep our old HD DVR receiver and we only have to pay a $5 monthly fee for that receiver. The tech that installed our upgrade gave us our old antenna, 50' of dual coaxial cable and the HD DVR receiver to take along on our RV trips. Takes less than 10 minutes to set up the antenna with a smartphone app.
I installed a wireless HDMI transmitter/receiver for the bedroom TV. Since. The DVR receiver is controlled by an RF remote controller we can change the channels from the bedroom.

Dish may not have redbox but it has on demand movies.Hd is free where I paid for it with direct tv.I don't lose the signal as often as I did with the other. Customer service is excellent. That basically are my reasons.
