Recharging AC freon

I recently purchased one of those do it yourself freon replacement at Walmart. When I attempted to do it, I noticed that the lower part was much larger then the one provided with the store brought freon charging kit. I have a 2007 350. Is this normal, do I have to buy some type of attachment, or am I not doing something right. Help. Hate paying 135 maiantenance labor for something that I could do with this kit. Pls advise

There are 2 connections on the chassis ac system.

One is low pressure, THIS IS THE ONE YOU ATTACH your hose to!
The other is high pressure, PLEASE do not attach to it.

They are different size so you can't attach to the wrong one.

hope this helps

I had the same problem. Got our recharge can also at Walmart. If your looking under the hood to the left and the hookup your seeing is somewhat right infront of you, you have the wrong one like I did. poke your head in a bit more and look up and it will be right above you. still reachable but a bit more at arms length. It will clip right on. Hope this helps.

The connection will be just above the rubber hose that converts to metal. There is an access port with a screw on plastic cap. Just recharged mine last week. If using a regular set of R134a Gauges the Blue hose would connect to the smaller access [Low Pressure or Suction Side] and the Red hose would connect to the larger connection [ High Pressure or Discharge Side ].
