Replaced steps but they are working opposite as should

As the title states. I just swapped out my LCI steps on my Georgetown. Got the new ones mounted, plugged them in.

Now when I close the door the steps open, when I open the door they retract.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Did you change the doors magnetic switch. One was normally open the other normally closed.

I did not change out anything other than removed old steps and replaced with new steps. Unplugged old, plugged in new ones.

When Lippert swapped out our steps to Kwickee steps they also changed the magnetic switch. They said if they didn't the steps would not function properly.

No other parts came with the steps for one. I looked at the wire colors of the old and the new steps in and out of the harness and they appeared to match but I would agree it seems wiring is reversed. I sent them a note, I guess I will see what they say.

No wiring is reversed. The door mag switch action is reversed for the kwikee steps from what the LCI switch action is. You need to swap out the LCI door switch with one that is normally open. The LCI switch is a normally closed switch. One other thing, the step power switch needs to be on to keep the steps out when camping (LCI steps required the power switch to be off to keep the steps out when camping). The kit you got should have included a new door magnetic switch.

I ran into the same problem with my Class A and had to order a different magnetic door switch to solve the problem

Yeah, the magnetic door switch needs to be changed. You should have gotten the new switch with your new steps. It's a very easy job, just follow the directions that should accompany the new switch.
I did this last year on my 2011 337DS and am very happy with the new steps.

Yes, to every thing bubbles posted. Just had my steps replaced, & had to wait another week to get the magnet that should have been sent with the steps.
