Residental Frig

We have a new motorhome Georgetown 378 (2015) with a residential Frig. When traveling how does this work? Does it work off the batteries or do I have to run the generator all the time?

It should run off the house batteries. Be sure your house battery switch is turned on(brown one by the entry door) and be sure the inverter for the fridge is turned on. ( little black round button with green lite in middle when turned on) your generator from your motor will keep your batteries charged while driving. And I get around 10 hours give or take running off the inverter and house batteries when stopped and not plugged in to ac power or not running the motorhome engine. I've also been told make sure you turn on the brown switch to engage the relay when hooked to ac ie shore power to allow your charger current to charge your house batteries. The inverter does not have to be on when hooked to shore power but if you are not plugged in you need the inverter green lite on switch lit up in order to power the fridge from batteries. My coach is a 2013 378 xl and assume yours should be similar.

We have 2015 351DS, Res. Fridge. I'm not sure where your water heater access is...but ours has a reset switch on the inverter in outside compartment next to the water heater. It is specifically for the fridge. We have a surge protector but the inverter was still tripped a while back. Everything else is the same. Just keep i mind it takes a few seconds for the fridge to come on when going from land line to batteries.

One final note, run the ice maker as much as possible as soon as possible. Ours went out the first week we got it. Your deal probably won't and can't fix it. Frigidaire has to come out. Our repairman said he had to change quite a few of the tray assemblies due to something, blah, blah, great now.

Our 378 has two additional house batteries (total 4 12volt) and we get almost 24 hours for the fridge.
